At the start of the scene the camera angel moving around David suggesting his surroundings of his bedroom, this displays his setting in which he lives in and relates to what he’s saying as being personal to him. The difference in setting in his bedroom shared by him and his brother conveys the difference in lifestyle they live which is ironic as they are brothers and should be treated equally. Ben's side of the bedroom is displayed to be bright and colourful connotating happiness and love in comparison to David's side of his room which is dark and dull discussing anger and negligence. We are introduced to the character of David for bad mouthing his brother who clearly suffers with a disability, he refers to his opinion of his brother of wanting to kill him - the shocking statement of wanting to kill your brother is an upsetting and harmful thought considering they are family. We understand that David feels anger and hatred towards Ben for receiving all love and attention from those around him, you don’t know whether to feel sympathy for David or have a view of him as a spiteful person, how could someone have that opinion on their brother? Its not his fault he suffers this disability.
